The Librarian

I have been reveling in holiday calm the last few days. Released for a moment from my full-time role as family taxi driver, I am amazed with how much free time and domestic energy it has left me with. I have cleaned, run along the beach, baked bread, taken long baths, and even managed an afternoon nap tucked up with a Joan Trollope book, ( Other People's Children) , and a cup of rooibus. Inspired by my current fave home and interior magazine (library issues only, often out-of-date, not complaining, at all. I love it), Homes and Antiques , I thought I'd share with you some nursery pictures I shot during my day of domesticity. Hope you are having a nice week too. x Library Girl

I know I promised book club this week, but the truth is I am still reading my book club book...it is absolutely amazing so far, but I don't want to talk about it yet, just incase it doesn't finish as well as it has started. But in the meantime I have a little something for you. The best. home. decor. book. ever. It is....... Spaces . Spaces by  frankie magazine Have you seen it already? Am I late on the scene? Tell me. The 255 page book (I tell you how many pages it is because in this instance it matters - you never want this book to end, and happily it takes quite a while before it does!) has been put together by those oh-so-very clever folk at Frankie Magazine in Australia. Each picture is packed with so much delightful detail that the book needs (many) repeat viewings. It's just amazing. If you haven't found it already, then do. Really. xx Library Girl

Nothing quite like home decorating books for escapism from real life.  If you stop noticing the staged placement of things, and all the impossibly perfectness of it all, it's really quite a treat to snuggle in front of the fire with a massive book full of beautiful houses.
